School Placement Exercise for Returning Singaporeans-Secondary (SPERS-Sec)

Note:

The 2020 SPERS-Sec will tentatively be conducted in mid-September 2020 and application will open in mid-July 2020. In view of the evolving Covid-19 situation, please visit this website in July for updates.

1. Overview

What is SPERS-Sec

SPERS-Sec is a centralised merit-based placement exercise conducted for Returning Singaporeans who wish to join a secondary school at Secondary 1, 2 and 3 at the beginning of the next academic year. It is not compulsory and does not guarantee admission to your school of choice. It is intended for those who prefer the convenience of a centralised placement exercise.

Note:

  • Your child can apply for the Supplementary Placement Exercise instead if they are unable to return to Singapore in time for SPERS-Sec.
  • You may also approach your preferred school directly in end-December. Admission is subject to availability of vacancies in the school. To assess your child's suitability for admissions, schools may conduct school-based assessment tests, interviews, or both.
